HP H240 SAS-3 12Gbps HBA Host Bus Adapter 779134-001 761873-B21 726907-B21 ZFS. These are HP SMART H240 SAS controllers / Host Bus Adapters (HBA).

They can actually run in either RAID or HBA mode, but I have configured these in HBA mode (same as IT mode) for use with software raid technologies like ZFS. They also have the latest firmware already applied (v7.00 at this time). These can operate at SAS-3 speeds (12Gbps) and use 2x SFF-8087 connectors, allowing you to use SAS-3 SSDs.

This is a full / standard profile card with air shroud to improve cooling. I have fully tested these in Supermicro servers running ZFS on Linux. I have tested them using all 8 SAS lanes. PLEASE NOTE: driver support for this card may be limited, or at least not as well supported in certain OSes. Please take this into consideration when making your purchasing decisions. For Linux platforms, the driver is pretty mature and safe to use and I would recommend this if you are planning to use ZFS on Linux. SAS-3 supports up to 12Gbps per SAS lane.
