Fantastic home NAS box or Media Server. Runs quiety and has low power usage. There are a few scratches here and there, but nothing more than expected for a device of its type.

Includes 4x hot-pluggable 3.5 SATA caddies as supplied by HP (the labels say non-hot pluggable but a BIOS fix changed them to hot-pluggable). This has been a very solid machine but I have upgraded to bigger setup to be able to accommodate additional drives.

Any questions, please fire away. This website contains a wealth of information about this server (it covers all HP MicroServers, not just the N40L). The 4 SATA drive bays are now hot-swappable. There is an unused SATA port on the motherboard, intended for use with a disk drive in the 5.25 bay.
